Luke is a York-based photographer whose work is rooted in the belief that the world around us is inherently fantastical, and that much of what we consider ordinary only appears so because of the cultural contexts, assumptions and inherited ways of seeing that shape how we understand the world.

He believes familiarity has a way of dulling our sense of wonder, and that we often turn to fictional books, films and imagined worlds in search of escapism and enchantment, while overlooking the extraordinary nature of the world around us.

Through his work, Luke seeks to disrupt the familiar, revealing the mysticism and wonder hidden within the natural world. In doing so, he hopes to inspire a renewed sense of awe and magic in us - encouraging a deeper, more meaningful connection with nature.
